MEET DR GLENN MACFARLANE
We would like you to meet our terrific dentist, Dr.Glenn MacFarlane. He is dedicated to helping all patients through every step of their dental health journey. The Center for Holistic Dental Medicine is pleased to introduce him and the amazing dental team he works with daily in Red Bank, New Jersey.
Glenn “DocSmile” MacFarlane, D.M.D., a lifelong New Jersey resident, was born in Newark, grew up in North Arlington and Belleville, and attended Seton Hall Prep in South Orange, earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, graduating in 1985.
Dr. MacFarlane is an aesthetic-focused dentist dedicated for almost 33 years to brightening thousands of smiles. He is an expert cosmetic dentist in “Jersey” with extensive training in complete smile restoration, using the latest technology and restorative materials dentistry offers. Considered a true dental artist, he has memberships in several prestigious organizations, including the American Dental Association (national, state, and county), the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, the Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. He opened his first dental practice in Bloomfield in 1987 and Red Bank in 2005.
For the past 20 years, Dr. MacFarlane has been the official cosmetic dentist for the Miss New Jersey and Mrs. New Jersey America pageants and has dazzled the smiles of several other state winners. “DocSmile,” as he is most referred to, is proud to say that everyday working-class people make up most of his clients. Dr. MacFarlane lectured worldwide for a prominent dental laser company for several years. He has authored smile enhancement articles in many state and national dental and leisure publications. His technique articles have appeared in DentalTown, Dental Products Report, and Dental Economics. Dr. MacFarlane has also been featured in New Jersey Monthly, New Jersey Life, Wedding Bells, New Jersey Bride magazines, and several state and local newspapers. He has appeared on News 12 NJ and Comcast Newsmakers and hosted his own radio program, “Today’s Smile,” discussing new dental trends.
Today, besides all the wonderful smiles Dr. MacFarlane has created using modern cosmetic dental techniques, he enjoys placing and restoring dental implants and working with physicians treating sleep apnea with oral appliances. His two daughters, Christina and Perri, have all grown up, and occasionally help their Dad in the business and clinical areas of the practice.
